Matthew's Basketball

Matthew played basketball for the first time this year. He played a 6 week season at the YMCA. He tried really hard the whole season and improved quite a bit. It was fun for Robert and me to watch him play, even though it did involve a lot of complaining from the younger kids who had to sit on the sidelines. This is a picture from his first game. It was one of few shots he was able to take all season, so I was pretty lucky to get an action shot like this. Matthew was not quite an offensive wizard, but he always kept trying and he did really well on defense.



Of course, being the YMCA, there was a party afterward and everyone got a trophy. As an added bonus, the coaches said something nice about all the players as they were handing them their trophy. Matthew seemed really pleased about what they said. After the arm twisting I had to do to get him to play, we were both very happy that the season turned out so well and he had so much fun.
